SR113 – DIPLOMA IN SPORT STUDIES

ABOUT The Sport Studies diploma allows students to complete up to two semester of university-transfer study, with courses transferring to related Sports Science and Sports Management degrees at UiTM.The program is designed to provide an introduction to theoretical knowledge of sport management, physical growth and development, understanding human behaviour, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sport sociology, principles of injury prevention and management, principles of human nutrition and sport event management
PERIOD OF STUDY Full Time: 5 semesters
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A) SPM
PASS SPM or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government by obtaining FIVE(5) CREDITS including Bahasa Melayu, and credits in the following subjects:

• English
• Mathematics/Additional Mathematics.
Credit in two other subjects,

AND
PASS in Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Additional Science / Science / Knowledge in Sports Science / Applied Science

B) Pre – Diploma
PASS in Pre Diploma Science (PD007/PD008) OR Pass in Pre Diploma Commerce (PD002/PD003) from UiTM.
AND
- PASS an interview and fitness test conducted by the Faculty.

SR243 – BACHELOR OF SPORTS SCIENCE (HONOURS)

ABOUT

In sport science, the areas of studies focus on the application of scientific methods on performance. Studies in these areas prepare students for a career in the fitness and sport industry, and/or any industry that is directly or indirectly related to the sport science. The programme offers knowledge, training and research in sport and provides students the opportunity to work with elite athletes.

PERIOD OF STUDY

Full Time: 4 semesters (for diploma in SR113 holder-start at semester 3)
Full Time: 6 semesters (SPM/STPM/Matriculation/others)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Fulfil General University Requirement and Special Programme Requirement

A) General University Requirement
PASS SPM or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government by obtaining FIVE (5) CREDITS including Bahasa Melayu.

B) Special Programme Requirement

1.

PASS STPM/STAM/equivalent qualification recognized with a minimum grade C (CGPA 2.00) in General Paper and TWO (2) others subjects.
AND
PASS SPM or any equivalent qualification by obtaining CREDITS in Bahasa Inggeris and Mathematic/Additional Mathematic and PASS in Physic/Chemistry/Biology/Additional Science/Science and Knowledge in Sport Science
AND
PASS the interview and fitness test conducted by the faculty.
OR

2.

PASS Matriculation/UiTM ASASI/PASUM with a minimum grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any other THREE (3) subjects
AND
PASS SPM or any equivalent qualification by obtaining CREDITS in Bahasa Inggeris and Mathematic/Additional Mathematic and PASS in Physic/Chemistry/Biology/Additional Science/Science and Knowledge in Sport Science
AND
PASS the interview and fitness test conducted by the faculty

3.

Diploma from the faculty of Sport Science and Recreation, UiTM with a minimum CGPA 2.50
AND
PASS the interview conducted by the Faculty.
OR

4.

Diploma from the Faculty of Sport Science and Recreation, UiTM with at least TWO (2) years working experience in related field and with a minimum CGPA of 2.00
AND
PASS the interview conducted by the Faculty.
OR

5.

Diploma from the faculty of Sport Science and Recreation, UiTM with participation in sports at International level and with a minimum CGPA of 2.00
AND
PASS the interview conducted by the Faculty.
OR

6.

Diploma from any other related program by UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50
AND
PASS the interview and fitness test conducted by the Faculty.
OR

7.

Diploma from any other related program by UiTM with at least TWO (2) years working experience in related field and with a minimum CGPA 2.00
AND
PASS the interview and fitness test conducted by the Faculty.
OR

8.

Diploma in related field from any other institution recognized by the Malaysian Government with a minimum CGPA 3.00
AND
PASS SPM or any other equivalent qualification by obtaining FIVE (5) CREDITS including Mathematic/Additional Mathematic and English with pass in Physic/chemistry/Biology/Additional Science/Science and knowledge in sport Science
AND
PASS the interview and fitness test conducted by the Faculty.

Diploma in related field from any other institution recognized by the Malaysian Government with ONE (1) year working experience in related field and with a minimum CGPA 2.75
AND
PASS SPM or any other equivalent qualification by obtaining FIVE (5) CREDITS including Mathematic/Additional Mathematic and English with pass in Physic/chemistry/Biology/Additional Science/Science and knowledge in sport Science
AND
PASS the interview and fitness test conducted by the Faculty.
