AT110 - Diploma in Planting Industry Management
In addition to attending lectures and conducting laboratory experiments on campus, students are also required to undergo four sessions of practical training In plantations, agricultural Institutions, and agricultural business organizations during semester vacations lasting at least 5 weeks each, a total of 20 weeks.
DPIM graduates may find employment in agro-based Industries such as plantations, agro-based organizations and services, agro-tourism, banking, insurance and semi-government bodies such as Farmers' Organization Authority (FAMA), Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), Palm 0il Research Institute of Malaysia (PORIM) and Malaysian Rubber Fund Board (MRFB).
|ABOUT||Students following this three year programme will learn the latest techniques of Plantation Management, Agriculture Science, Farm Mechanisation, Accounting, Plant Science, Agricultural Economics, Soil Science, Industrial Relations, Personnel Management, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Extension and Agricultural Marketing. Graduates of this programme will be able to further their studies in the related field offered by institutions of higher learning, either locally or overseas. Graduates have excellent career prospects in areas of plantation and agrotechnology at semi-professional level in the plantation and agricultural related industry in both private and government sectors|

Fullfil the University Entry Requirement of a pass in SPM or its equivalent that is recognized by the Malaysian Government with minimum of five (5) credits including Bahasa Melayu and four (4) other subjects as stated below :-

Opportunities for Further Studies
Graduates of this program may further their studies in the same or related fields at both local and foreign Universities. The Faculty of Applied Sciences currently offers a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Plantation Technology and Management at the Shah Alam Campus. Beginning from June 2000, Masters in Science and PhD's in the field of Plantation Technology and Management have also been offered. In addition, many DPIM graduates are also pursuing their studies in various fields at UPM, UUM, UKM and USM. The duration of the study depends on the field of study and the academic performance of the graduate at the diploma level.
