FTMSK UiTM Pahang began its operations in a temporary campus, Kuantan. The faculty then moved to Bandar Jengka in 1993 and since then the faculty has expanding successfully. By February 2005, FTMSK has approximately 300 students currently studying in UiTM Pahang.

Currently, FTMSK Pahang offers a diploma in Computer Science programme. The program is designed to meet the industry needs as well as meeting the demand to support the MSC agenda.

The main objective of FTMSK Pahang is to produce graduates in Computer Science and Information Technology that posses technical knowledge, with well rounded and good personalities, having the right caliber to take up future challenges in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) world.

Vision
To enchance the knowledge and expertise of Bumiputeras in all fields of study through professional programmes, research work and community services founded on moral values and professionals ethics.

Mission
To establish UiTM as a premier university founded on the tenets of scholarship and academic excellence capable of promoting Bumiputera's dynamism in all professional fields of world-class standards and producing ethical and globally competitive graduates.

Objective

  • To provide maximum opportunities for Bumiputeras to persue professionally-recognised programmes of study in science, industry, technology, business, arts, and humanities. To provide quality and innovaties of study relevant to current market needs and customer demands and in line with the policies of national development .
  • To establish a university-wide human resource development programme for instilling sound value system within the university community .
  • To ensure that UiTM graduates are adequately prepared to join the local as well as the international workforce .
  • To establish UiTM as a centre of excellence that ensures the sound and effective management of its human resources, and finances and assets in order to achieve its educational objectives, whilst playing a major role as a catalyst in community development .


Philosophy
A belief that every individual has the ability to attain excellence through the transfer of knowledge and instilling of moral values so as to produce professional graduates capable of advancing knowledge, self, society, and nation.

CS110 - Diploma Sains Komputer

Programme Profile
The objectives of this programme are:

  • To train students in the scientific and commercial applications of computer to meet the increasing demand for personnel in all organisations.
  • To give students a knowledge of the computer world, especially computer applications and skills in computer programming.
  • To give students an exposure at the real-life working experience by doing a four months practical training in selected organizations.
  • It is also designed in preparing students with sufficient knowledge in Computer Science to enable them to pursue studies at a higher level.


Admission Requirement
A) SPM/SPM(V) or the equivalent with 5 credits in the following subjects:
Credit in the Bahasa Melayu and a pass in English, or Credit in English and a pass in the Bahasa Melayu.
Credit in Mathematics.
Credit in one of the following science subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Additional Science

Credit in two other subjects,
AND
Pass in Additional Mathematics,
OR

B) SPM/SPM(V) and Certificate in Computer Programming or Certificate in Information Technology from UiTM or its equivalent with Cummulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) of at least 2.70 or above, and s minimum one year working experience in a related field. OR

C) Pass in Pre-Science course (KP08).

The Diploma in Computer Science holders usually swerve as:

  • Networking & mobile computing expert
  • System engineer
  • Software engineer etc.

These diploma holders can also pursue their studies at a higher level.

CS227 - Sarjana Muda Sains (Kepujian) (Matematik Pengkomputeran)

Programme Profile
The programme has the following objectives, to produce:

  • Mathematicians with the ability to apply fundamental knowledge for lifelong learning.
  • Mathematicians who have high skills in using various applications of ICT to analyze real data in solving mathematically related problem.
  • Mathematicians with a professional mind set and behaviour in accordance with ethical standards and practices.
  • Mathematicians with effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Mathematicians who are a team players with good leadership qualities and sufficient entrepreneurship.

Entry Requirement
Applicant must fulfill one of the following requirements:

  • STPM or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 and grade C+ (GPA 2.33) in Mathematics S / Mathematics T / Further Mathematics T and one (1) other subject not including General Paper AND Passed SPM or its equivalent with credits in Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Additional Science / Science and a pass in English.
  • Asasi UiTM/PASUM/Matriculation with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in and at least grade C+ (GPA 2.33) in two (2) subjects including Mathematics / Engineering Mathematics and grade C (GPA 2.00) in one (1) other subject AND Passed SPM or its equivalent with credits in Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Additional Science / Science and a pass in English.
  • A diploma from the Faculty of Information Technology and Quantitative Sciences, UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50.
  • A diploma from Faculty of Information Technology and Quantitative Sciences, UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and one (1) year of working experience in related fields.
  • A relevant diploma from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 AND Passed SPM or its equivalent with at least a credit in Additional Mathematics.
  • A relevant diploma from UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and one (1) year of working experience in any related fields AND Passed SPM or its equivalent with at least a credit in Additional Mathematics.
  • A diploma in related fields of study from other institutions recognized by the Government of Malaysia with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 AND Passed SPM or its equivalent with 5 credits including Mathematics / Additional Mathematics and Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Additional Science / Science and a pass in English.
  • A diploma in related fields of study from other institutions recognized by the Government of Malaysia with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 and one (1) year of related working experience AND Passed SPM or its equivalent with 5 credits including Mathematics / Additional Mathematics and Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Additional Science / Science and a pass in English.

Note: All applicants must pass MUET with a minimum score of Band 1.

Career Opportunities
Graduate of this programme can be employed both in public and private sectors, holding positions as Industrial Eengineering Analyst, Project Manager, Product Designer, Computer Software Officer, Programming Executives, System Analysts, Programme Analysts and Academicians.
